Public Utilities

Overview

The Public Utilities Building houses the departments of the public works, electric production and electric distribution.

The Public Works Department maintains 12 employees under the direction of the Public Works Director. Just a few of the responsibilities of the department include:

  • Maintaining city vehicles and equipment
  • Maintaining sewer mains
  • Maintaining streets
  • Maintaining water mains
  • Operating the wastewater treatment plant
  • Reading utility meters
  • Snow removal
