ATTENTION SMALL BUSINESSES
$9 million in federal funding will be made available to the state’s Community Development Block Grant program to support community responses to the COVID-19 crisis, especially targeted to small businesses with fewer than 50 employees. **Please note that businesses will NOT apply directly to the Kansas Department of Commerce.**

Baldwin City is already in the process of applying for this grant funding in order to help our community, and we will keep you updated on how to apply.

1. We have placed a notice of public hearing in the Lawrence Journal World. This notice needs to be published 10 days ahead of the hearing.
2. On May 27th at 4pm, there will be a special council meeting called for the hearing. You can attend via Zoom.
3. Once we know if the grant is approved, we will develop an application process.
4. The application process will be made available to the public as soon as possible.

This is an opportunity for the city to support our businesses, and we are working hard to make it happen. Please be patient with the process we are required to follow.
