East Sewer Interceptor Project Overview

east sewer interceptor

What: This is a large project intended to upgrade the main sewer pipes on the eastside of town to current standards in order to improve long term waste water management.

When: Prep work has begun on the project, and you will see more activity beginning around August 24th.

How long: This project is estimated to take around 3 months, depending on weather and other factors.

Impact to residents: During the project, residents along the sewer route should not experience any disruptions to service. That said, there could be short time periods when the water will need to be turned off if something unexpected occurs. We’ll do our best to notify those affected and work quickly with our contractors to restore service. Some roads will be closed to through traffic temporarily, although we will always maintain access for residents. Again, we will do our best to keep you informed of what’s happening.

Where: This project will begin at the Waste Water Treatment Plant and head toward 6th and Lincoln, then weave along 5th and 4th streets over on Elm Street ending part way up Santa Fe Drive. See the graphic below for general locations.

If you have specific questions about the project and it’s impact on your property, please contact Rob Culley at Public Works: 785-594-6907.
