The Eastside and Elm Street sidewalk projects are coming along. Much of the concrete is already poured, and the hard surfaces should be finished within the next couple of weeks. Enjoy these drone photos from August 27th, courtesy of Pitts Photography, and then go take a walk in Baldwin City this evening.
This sidewalk begins at Baker University and strolls past a fraternity, the City pool, and Liston Stadium on it’s way to Santa Fe Drive. Curving up Santa Fe, it’s a new home for kids and friendly walks until it ends at Highway 56.
With an existing railroad crossing and proximity to the primary and elementary schools, Elm Street makes a lot of sense for a school transportation route. This walk meanders through existing trees, crosses Tauy Creek, and connects two of USD 348’s campuses to Baker University and downtown Baldwin City.
