A splintered half of a tree lies on the ground under a power line

On Sunday morning at approximately 9:07 a.m., the electric crew was notified of a single customer outage in the 1100 block of Dearborn Street and Chapel Street. Upon investigation, crews discovered damage to two Hendrix brackets, which hold up the power lines.

The damage was apparently initiated by a tree that had split in half and fallen, striking the lines but falling clear to the ground. Residents say the tree fell sometime on Friday evening, but did not immediately cause outages.

The line crew began repair work at approximately 10:30 a.m. and successfully restored power to all affected customers by approximately 11:30 a.m. We appreciate the patience of residents in the affected area during the outage.
