The intersection of 8th and High will be closed to through traffic beginning on Wednesday, September 3rd, for renovation. This project is expected to take approximately 3 weeks.
Chip and seal work to be done in 2025 includes streets to the north and east of downtown, as well as the Golf Course parking lot and driveway.
Heartstone, Inc., will be in town to begin renovation of the intersection on September 3rd. This project is expected to take approximately 3 weeks.
Work was delayed due to rain and storms; crews will be in town through the week of August 18th.
Chip and seal work is set to begin on the streets west of 8th Street and north of High Street on Monday, August 11th. Work is expected to take a few days to complete. Door hangers will be placed in affected neighborhoods prior to any street closings.

Under the supervision of the Director of Public Works, the Maintenance Tech I – Public Works position is non-exempt under FLSA. This position performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work individually or as part of a crew, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of City water, sewer, street and storm drainage facilities and systems. This employee should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, as well as effective communication and public relations skills.
