Fireworks season is about to begin again! Here is a round up of questions we hear every year.
Can I set off fireworks inside city limits?
Generally speaking, fireworks are allowed between the hours of 10am and 10pm from June 28th through July 2nd.
On July 3rd and 4th, the hours allowed are 10:00 a.m. to midnight, as well as any Friday or Saturday that falls between June 28th and July 4th in any year. For 2025, this means fireworks are allowed from 10am until midnight June 28th, as well as July 3rd and 4th. June 29th through July 2nd, allowed hours are 10am until 10pm.
The Independence Day Celebration planned by the Baldwin City Recreation Commission and supported by the City is Saturday, July 5th, at the Golf Course. Details on the event are available here.

Not recommended:
Never disrupt traffic flow while setting off fireworks
Don’t set fireworks off in your hands
Monitor sparkler use carefully — they can cause third degree burns
Bottle rockets and similar flying fireworks are against city code
Definitely don’t aim fireworks at your neighbors’ house
Under no conditions should you ever dispose of fireworks in the trash without soaking them first
