Baldwin City power crews were notified of a large tree on the main feed into town this morning, April 29th, 2025.
Removing the tree required disconnecting from the external grid and utilizing internal generation from the City power plant while the tree was cut off of the line.
Changing over to internal generation went smoothly, as did the change back to external power once the tree was removed and power via the main feed restored. As of 1pm, all systems are restored to normal status.
Thanks to the powerplant crew and the linecrew for their excellent team work that made the entire process seamless.
Culverts under the road allowing access to the east side of the City Lake collapsed in March, necessitating culvert replacement.
