Memorial Day Closures and Updates

Memorial Day is Monday, May 26th.

What does that mean for Baldwin City schedules?

All City offices are closed. That means City Hall is closed, Public Works is closed, and the Police Station is closed to visitors. All emergency personnel will still work as normal, including Police officers. Utility employees will work their on-call schedule, as is usual after hours and on weekends.

Here are the on-call phone numbers, in case you need help this weekend:

• NOTE: Always call 911 in an emergency.
• The Police non-emergency dispatch number is 785-843-0250.
• To report a utility leak or outage, call 785-594-6907 and the after hours call service will take a message.

Trash pickup is NORMAL next week, including on Monday. Yes, we know this is new. Green Environmental Services tells us they will only be taking off Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years in the future.

The Municipal Pool is open from 12:30pm-6:30pm on Monday, with free admission. The Rec Commission is hosting as usual, and have a fun day planned. More info here →

Of course, everyone's got an eye on the weather and it's looking chilly for Memorial Day. The pool water will be heated, however, so stay tuned to the Rec's communication channels for more information.
